Muslim funeral services in Otago
We have no checked listings in Otago yet. Call the nearest large masjid; they will know who handles funerals locally.
Someone just died?
- Call the masjid’s funeral committee first. If the death was at home and unexpected, call 111 before anyone else.
- Ask them: who does the ghusl, what time the janazah prayer will be, which funeral director they work with, and whether there is a plot in a Muslim cemetery or section.
- Then take it one step at a time. Our step-by-step guide is written for the United States. The Islamic steps are the same everywhere; the paperwork in New Zealand is different — ask the funeral committee or funeral home. What to do when a Muslim dies · When someone dies abroad.
Nearest listings elsewhere
Straight-line distance from Dunedin, not driving distance. A funeral committee in a neighbouring region may still be able to advise you, or tell you who serves your town.
