The short version: what you write about your family stays on your device. We only receive what you send us through a form.

What stays on your device

Your janazah wishes and the ticks on the step-by-step guide are kept in your browser’s local storage. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data deletes them, so save a backup, download or print your wishes page. The inheritance calculator stores nothing; if you copy a link to a result, the numbers are written into that link, so share it only with people you trust.

What we receive

When you sign up for the Friday letter, reserve the workbook, contact us about your masjid or suggest a listing, we receive what you typed in that form and the time it was sent. We use it only for that purpose and never sell it. Friday-letter subscriptions are managed by Kit, and our notification emails are sent through Resend; they process your details only to provide those services.

Other sites

Fonts and illustrations are served from this site; we load nothing from Google or other font services. If analytics are on, they are Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not track you across sites. Maps on directory listings load street data from OpenFreeMap when you scroll to them; OpenFreeMap sets no cookies. If you search the directory by ZIP code, only the ZIP code is sent to Zippopotam.us to find your state. Links to the Qurʾān, ḥadīth collections and directory listings take you to other sites with their own policies.

Removing your details

Every email from us has an unsubscribe link. To have anything else you sent removed, reply to any email from us.
