What to ask when you call
- Can the family or the masjid do the washing (ghusl) in your facility?
- Please confirm no embalming, and burial as soon as possible.
- What is the total price, in writing, including transport and the casket or shroud?
Details change. Call to confirm before you rely on this listing. A listing is not an endorsement, and it is never affected by payment or by using any service from us or anyone we work with.
Someone just died?
- Call the masjid’s funeral committee first. If the death was at home and unexpected, call 911 before anyone else.
- Ask them: who does the ghusl, what time the janazah prayer will be, which funeral home they work with, and whether there is a plot in a Muslim cemetery.
- Then take it one step at a time. What to do when a Muslim dies in New Jersey.
